Cake Crafts - Cake Decorating & Candy Making Supplies

CLASS POLICIES

IMPORTANT INFORMATION!

Attendance: - Cake Crafts’ evening classes meet one night per week
(7:00 – 9:00 PM) for four (4) consecutive weeks, or on Saturdays per schedule. Please arrive a few minutes early to allow the instructor to check attendance and begin the session promptly. Students will not be admitted to class after 5 minutes from the class start time; this will assure your obtaining the most from your class and prevent disruptions for your classmates. Cake Crafts cannot provide for missed classes (we do not have “make up” classes). If you miss a class and wish to receive a certificate, talk to the instructor, do the homework assignment for the missed session(s) from the lesson plan book and submit completed project to the instructor.

Severe Weather in Denver or Englewood – Generally, if schools are cancelled due to severe weather, Cake Crafts classes may also be cancelled. In the event of severe weather please call our store to verify if your class will be held. Cancelled classes due to severe weather will meet the next day or on a new date convenient to the majority of the students registered and the instructor.

Class Prerequisites: – It is important that you begin with a class that is matched with your level of knowledge and experience. Taking classes you are not ready to take can severely slow down instruction for all students and can be very frustrating to you as a student. Classes are pretty much progressive and you will be learning new skills during each class and also using the skills that you have learned in previous classes. As example, the Cake Decorating I class will provide you with the basic foundation in cake decorating and is a prerequisite for Cake Decorating II and most of our other cake decorating classes. Talk to us or the instructor about class descriptions and specific prerequisites.

If you are new to Cake Decorating you should begin with Cake Decorating I. Once you have completed Cake Decorating I, then you can take Cake Decorating II and many of our specialty classes (typically held on Saturdays). Once you have completed Cake Decorating I and Cake Decorating II, you can advance to either Cake Decorating III or the Wedding Cake Class.

The art of cake decorating requires practice. You will learn skills and techniques during every class and you will have time to practice, but in order to get the most from the classes that you take, please spend time practicing the techniques at home. Bring any questions with you to the next class.

Class procedures: - Only paid students are permitted in the classroom during scheduled classes. Family members (including babies and children) and friends are not allowed in the classroom during classes. Smoking is not permitted at any time on any of the premises. As a courtesy and with respect for the instructor and fellow students, cell phones are not allowed in class – absolutely no phone calls to or from the classroom are allowed. Please give out the phone number of the store (303-761-1522) as a contact number in case of an emergency. If you have the need for an interpreter, this must be pre-approved by the instructor of the class before class begins. For all regular classes, students must be at least 18 years in age.

A Supply List for classes is available upon paid registration (given to you if you are in the store, they can be faxed, emailed or USPS mailed to you). These are supplies that we recommend you purchase or bring from home. Typically these will be things like zip-lock bags; handi-wipes for clean up; note pad and pen, etc. No material is supplied by Cake Crafts unless specifically stated. For the more advanced classes you will want to bring many of your own supplies, some that you received in previous classes. It is important to bring these supplies so that you can benefit the most from your class. Cake Crafts makes many efforts to have all necessary supplies in the store for you to purchase to enhance the decorating experience of the classes and instruction.

PLEASE NOTE: IF YOU HAVE NOT RECEIVED YOUR SUPPLY LIST WITHIN 4 DAYS OF CLASS DATE, PLEASE CALL OUR STORE AT 303-761-1522.

Parking is available in the parking lot behind our building and on Broadway or Oxford.
